Overview

The Town of Princeton’s Parks, Recreation, Culture and Tourism Department is currently recruiting for certified lifeguards and swim instructors to provide exceptional customer service, fun and interactive program instruction and effective safety supervision for the patrons of Centennial Outdoor Pool.

 

Scope of work

As a lifeguard/swim instructor, you must have knowledge of aquatic related policy and procedures; water safety and first aid; demonstrate strong skills in communication, instruction and lifeguarding; handle front office duties such as cash handling, program registration, reporting and answering the phone.

As a lifeguard/swim instructor, you will ensure the facility is well maintained and kept clean and safe on a daily basis. You will perform routine maintenance such as cleaning change rooms and performing scheduled checks of water quality and equipment functions.

 

Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • Current certification in National Lifeguard Service – Pool Option
  • Current certification in Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI)
  • Current CPR "C” with Auto External Defibrillation certification

In this position the successful candidate will be available for:

  • Part time in May & June with up to a 40-hour work week for July & August
  • Shifts between 6:00am and 10:00pm including evenings, weekends and statutory holidays

Other Information

This position requires the completion of a Police Information Check prior to beginning employment.
